Runway Details-Stella McCartney-1

Big chunky details! Will you add these to your next sewing project?

At the Stella McCartney – Spring-Summer 2015 ready-to-wear show, there are some relatively straightforward things to easily incorporate into your next creation.

TRY IT:

Big buckles on shoulder straps, that’s simple. Adjust the width of your straps if needed to work with the selected buckles.

The eyelets and slot cutouts – a little harder to tackle, but you can practice making those on scraps until you get the hang of it. Then mark and place where you’ll sew them.

Alternatively, if you happen to find a pair of fabric belts, you can use them for your straps and let it guide you to the fabric for your dress!

The belt remnants can be used for other areas of your garment, like welts or edges of pockets. Maybe even for lapel and cuff edge details on a matching jacket. Presto!

SHOW YOUR MAD SKILLS:

Did you attempt buckles, slots, or eyelets? Post a detail pic on our Facebook Page . . . We’d love to see it!
